Mario and Carla lived here, in the early years of the 20th century.
Among the fog and the fields of northern Italy
In 1928 their only son, Piero, was born.
In 1958 he left for Belgium in search of a better life.
There, Marco and Lucia were born.
Mario passed away in 1984, and Carla followed three years later.
Piero returned only in the summers, just for a few days — enough to open the windows again.
Today, the house is still large… but empty.
Only the photos of the children remain, the beach chairs,
the forgotten umbrellas, and the ivy slowly creeping in — like a memory that refuses to fade away.
